How It Works

Competitions run on a weekly cycle:

• Start: Every Monday at 06:00 UTC
• End: Every Sunday at 20:00 UTC
• Duration: ~6.5 days of active trading

At the end of each week, final rankings are calculated based on your total portfolio value (cash + holdings). Top performers are displayed on the leaderboard.

When a new competition starts on Monday, everything resets:

• Cash: Reset to $5,000
• Positions: All your holdings are cleared
• Price History: Starts fresh for the new week

Note: Your previous week's results are saved in the competition history. Everyone starts equal each week!

Trading is only available during active competitions:

• Open: Monday 06:00 UTC to Sunday 20:00 UTC
• Closed: Sunday 20:00 UTC to Monday 06:00 UTC

When trading is closed, you can still browse the market and view your portfolio, but buy/sell actions are disabled.

Repository prices are calculated based on GitHub stars:

• Price Updates: Every 15 minutes
• Buy Fee: 1% per transaction
• Sell Fee: None

As repositories gain or lose stars, their prices change. Predict which repos will gain popularity to maximize your returns!

1. Login: Sign in with your GitHub account
2. Get Cash: You start with $5,000 virtual cash
3. Browse: Explore repositories in the Market
4. Trade: Buy shares of repos you think will gain stars
5. Monitor: Track your portfolio and the leaderboard
6. Compete: Aim for the top spot by Sunday!
